Realised today how much of an endorphin junkie I am. Been feeling pretty blue lately which is kind of normal for me during winter, but it usually feels better in February when the light returns to this God forsaken country. This year it did not -it felt worse. So I had to analyse the situation. The answer for me is exercise. I have been doing some kind of physical exercise 3-4 times a week during the last two weeks - and it works! After this mornings 5k run I am feeling great. Good music while running (which is crucial for me). Not too cold outside.Of course it helps that it is Friday, that I am having lunch with my best male friend Bennie and that I am going to Stockholm for a weekend of relaxation and more exercise. ;)
Life is good!

"when the light returns to this God forsaken country" .... *chuckles* ... humans are strange animals, we're never satisfied it would appear ... the light never seems to go away here *lol* ... i look forward to Feb/Mar when we are still 'daylight saving' shifted, before the clock is moved back again late in March; and then again later, a week or so either side of the Winter Solstice when it can be still dark after rising for the day. It is a welcome change to leave home of a morning in the dark - gives a sense of starting the day off eagerly .. kind of exciting!! *silly grin*
ReplyDeleteNothing but bright light and blue skies can be so tiresome ..*sigh*.. this country is often referred to as a 'sunburnt country' -- and yes, also a 'God forsaken' one, esp in times of drought and bush fires, which merely highlights that well worn saying - 'Too much of anything can be bad for you'.
But keep on running Ms Mom ... those natural pain killers can blow d'blues ..*smile*.. [OOooo .. sure feeeels good !!]
As long as you know where you are running...
ReplyDeleteI didn't this weekend in Stockholm. :( Ended up combining jogging with, slalom, rock climbing, off road trecking and orientering(is that the English word for it...running+ map+compass?)A 5k run became almost 10 and 30 or so minutes became more than an hour. Need I say may body aches today? *Smiles*
OMG!! And on top of all that i 'spose there were all the 'bench presses' ... *LMAO*
